By, with and for youth.

Youth are integral members of our communities.  With characteristic energy and passion, their social drives, connections and connectivity help shape the local cultures of the communities we share. Young people have their own, first-hand experiences of issues and problems their communities face, and are often on the front lines of activism and other efforts to help address them.

qathet's Youth Community Action Team (qYCAT) works to address the needs and concerns of youth living in Powell River and communities throughout the qathet region.

Get involved!

All youth aged 14+ are welcome and encouraged to join!

qYCAT meetings are safe, confidential and supportive spaces for youth to gather and share in open, honest conversations about wants, needs, and the issues affecting youth in qathet communities.

Honorarium payments, snacks and transportation vouchers are available to all attendees.

We acknowledge with gratitude our place on the ancestral and traditional territories of the Tla’amin and shíshálh Nations.  We stand in solidarity with the Tla’amin and shíshálh Peoples, and our shared commitment to effective overdose responses, awareness and prevention throughout all communities within the qathet Regional District.
