What is "iOAT"?
Opioid Agonist Therapies (OATs) are a safe, effective and life-saving option for individuals experiencing severe opioid dependence. They involve taking prescribed medications to reduce opioid cravings and manage withdrawal symptoms. OATs can significantly improve stability and day-to-day functioning.

iOAT in Canada currently involves the supervised injection of prescribed hydromorphone, or diacetylmorphine (i.e. medical heroin). Learn more about iOAT here and here.
